How Do I Control My Lock in the SmartRent Mobile App?

In the SmartRent Mobile App, you have the ability to remotely unlock/lock your door, create and manage guest access codes, and monitor who comes and goes.

Controlling Your Lock:

To unlock/lock your door in the SmartRent Mobile App, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your lock on either the Dashboard or Smart Home tab
  2. To unlock your door, tap Unlock
  3. To lock your door, tap Lock

Managing Guest Access:

To manage guest access for your home in your SmartRent App, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your lock on either the Dashboard or Smart Home tab
  2. Tap the three-dots in the upper right corner of the device card
  3. Tap Manage Access
  4. Tap the + 
  5. Select whether you would like this code to be Temporary, Recurring, Permanent or Delivery (not all properties enable these options; check out our What Are the Different Types of Guest Access Codes? article to learn about access codes)
  6. Enter your guest’s contact information
  7. If this is a Temporary or Recurring guest, enter the time frame for which this code will be available
  8. Tap the check mark in the upper right-hand corner

Once you have completed the steps to create your guest access code, the new code will show up in your list of access codes and should work on the lock within a couple of minutes. If the code does not work once you've created it, please contact our support team, information listed below, for further assistance.

A link to view the guest code will be emailed or SMS texted to the recipient. This link will expire after 30 minutes from when the code is created. If you or your guest are not able to view the code within those 30 minutes, you will need to request a new link from the email to view the code.

 

Activity, Settings, Schedules:

To view your lock Activity, update the name of your lock, or set a Schedule for your lock in your SmartRent App, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your lock on the Dashboard or Smart Home tab
  2. Tap the three-dots in the upper right corner of the device card
  3. To view your lock’s Activity, tap View Activity 
    • This will open your Activity Feed so you can see who entered your home and when
  4. To update the name of your lock, tap the pencil icon to the right of the existing lock name and type in your new name
  5. To create a schedule to lock your door (i.e. lock my door every night at 11pm), tap Schedule
    • Tap +
    • Set the time and the days you want the Schedule to occur
    • Tap Next
    • Tap Done after reviewing your Schedule
