In the SmartRent Mobile App, you have the ability to remotely control your smart plugs and switches, set schedules, and monitor their activity.
Controlling Your Plugs and Switches:
To control your On/Off (non-dimmer) switches and smart plugs in the SmartRent Mobile App, follow these steps:
- Under Smart Home (or Dashboard if you’ve added the device widget), scroll to Plug or Switch
- To turn on the device, tap On
- To turn off the device, tap Off
Activity and Schedules:
To view your switch/plug Activity or set a Schedule in your SmartRent App, follow these steps:
- Under Smart Home (or Dashboard if you’ve added the device widget), scroll to Plug or Switch
- Tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the device card
- To view your Activity, tap View Activity
- This will open your Activity feed so you can see when your plugs and switches have been turned on or off
- To create a schedule, (i.e. turn my lights on every morning at 7 am), tap Schedule
- To make a new Schedule, tap +
- Set the time and the days you want the Schedule to occur
- Tap the checkmark in the upper right corner
- Set what you'd like your plugs/switches to do at the scheduled time
- Tap the checkmark in the upper right corner after reviewing your Schedule
Smart Plugs:
Always use your smart plug in accordance with applicable instructions. For safety, you should NOT plug the following things into your smart plug:
- Your hub
- Surge protectors or power strips
- Sensitive electronics (i.e. TVs, computers, etc.)
- Personal or space heaters
- Any device that requires more power than your model smart plug is rated for
