When you switch your thermostat between heat and cool modes, the thermostat will wait for a moment to process the command, protect the compressor, and prevent damage to your heating and cooling system. It may also say wait when we are attempting to receive updates on the current status of your thermostat.
When the thermostat says "wait" it is still fully functional and can receive new commands from the SmartRent mobile app or from the physical device itself. Feel free to change your thermostat set points and mode whether it is indicating the "wait" or not.
