What Is Away Mode and How Do I Use It?

Away Mode is a thermostat setting that overrides pre-existing Schedules and Automations with a temperature of your choice, making it easy to save energy when you are away from your home for an extended period of time.

Setting up Away Mode:

To set up Away Mode in your SmartRent App:

1. Navigate to your thermostat on either the Dashboard or Smart Home tab
2. Tap the three-dots in the upper right corner of the device card
3. Tap Configure Away Mode
4. You’ll see a short explanation about Away Mode
5. Tap Continue
6. Tap the mode you want your thermostat to operate in while you are away
7. Tap whether you want the fan to run in Auto mode or always On
8. Set the desired temperature(s)
9. Tap the Check in the upper right-hand corner
10. Tap Save to confirm your settings

Using Away Mode:

1. Navigate to your thermostat on either the Dashboard or Smart Home tab
2. Tap the Away
3. Tap On to enable
4. Tap Disable Away Mode to disable

1. Navigate to your thermostat on either the Dashboard or Smart Home tab
2. Tap the three-dots in the upper right corner of the device card
3. Tap Away Mode
4. Make your adjustments
5. Tap the Check in the upper right-hand corner
6. Tap Save to confirm your settings
